Depressing but makes you want to find out what happens next.
NIGHT 1
“ I can’t breathe…why can’t I breathe?” His telephone was ringing, but he couldn’t answer it because his legs were numb. “Why can’t I move? I remember going to sleep not too long ago. Osuna! Where are you?!” Osuna was Yoseyo’s roommate in college, they’ve been great friends ever since. As he lay on the floor in the corner of his bedroom next to his nightstand, he notices a dark figure by the door. As his vision gets better, he could make out the shadowy silhouette that was Osuna. “Osuna? Why are you standing there? Are you ok? Why can’t I move?” Osuna slowly comes closer to Yoseyo and he slowly realizes the face of the body did not seem familiar anymore…
NIGHT 2
“ Hey Osuna, can I talk to you for a bit before I K.O.?” “ Sure, what do you wanna to talk about?” “Well… I had this crazy dream last night, I couldn’t move and I thought you were there but it didn’t seem like you…” “Umm…that’s confusing, did anything else happen?” she said with a raised eyebrow. “You…if it was you? Came closer, then my dream stopped there,” he said scratching his head. “If it only stopped there then you shouldn’t dwell on it too much, Yoseyo,” she put her hand on his shoulder. “I guess you’re right Osuna, but I feel like there’s more to my dream, so I will see if it continues tonight.” “Ok, but remember what I told you, it’s just a dream.” “I won’t, goodnight Osuna.” “Goodnight, Yoseyo” Osuna said with a worried smile. Yoseyo returned to his room with the curiosity of wanting to know more about his dream. He was too anxious to fall asleep just yet, so he made himself a cup of his favorite peach flavored oolong tea and watched an anime he’s been putting off for a while now called “The world only God knows.” Not too long after he falls asleep in the middle of the first episode. He suddenly couldn’t move again. “Why am I in the living room this time? Where’s Osuna?” Yoseyo is breathing hard on the couch still trying to move his legs, and Osuna appears from Yoseyo’s room and finally reveals her face. Yoseyo automatically stops his breathing when he sees that her face was covered in blood, half of her face was burned, hair frizzy with ash, and looked like a bad haircut. She has on a purple dress with white stars on it that was covered in blood, flesh, and ashes. She’s also missing a white converse on her left foot that Yoseyo got her for her birthday. “Wh…what happened to you, Osuna?” Still in shock and terrified for what Osuna is going to say, Yoseyo crawls off the couch towards her. “Yoseyo, it’s time to forget me now. It’s been too long…you must save yourself the self-harm.” She says in a whisper and pained voice, soon after starts to cry as if she was sorry for something. Yoseyo continue to crawl and Osuna came closer to him crouching down. He wiped her tears and spoke softly to her. “I could never forget you, Osuna. I don’t know what happened to you, but I do know I want to help you. I will find a way to move my legs somehow and find out who hurt you. I promise. So don’t go and wait for me.” Osuna gets up quickly and frantically backing away. “You can’t help me, Yoseyo. And I can’t stay either. You must go back and forget about me its for your own good. Don’t you trust me? I am your only friend after all” “I know and I do trust you, but why can’t you at least stay?” he says worrisome. “I cannot tell you that, but I will say that if you ever get lost and confused just go back into your mind.” She disappears without leaving a trace, leaving Yoseyo puzzled and crying on the ground. “OSUNA...!”
NIGHT 3
After forcibly dragging himself around from class to class all day, he finally got to his apartment not to far from his school, Okinawa University. It was 5 in the evening and the lost expression never seemed to fade from his face leaving many people to wonder what was wrong. What made it worse is he did not eat. After taking a nice long 1 hour bath, Yoseyo ate his leftover fried calamari and curry with rice from his dinner yesterday. This made him gain some energy but at the sane time he was tired. He decided to take a nap before studying with Osuna later. “Ok, I need to find out what happened to Osuna and how I can help her, if I can just move my legs.” Yoseyo is in Osuna’s room extremely determined to get up and walk. As he pushes again and again failing each time, he sees Osuna open the door. “ So I see my words aren’t getting through to you, I wanted to protect you by leaving you here. I guess I will have to show you,” she sighed. She went to him stretching out her hand signaling to take her hand. “C’mon, once you take my hand you will be able to move, I have to show you something.” Yoseyo trusts every word she says, but takes her hand hesitantly scared of what she might show him. He was amazed how easily it was to walk with a slight touch of her hand. “Where are we going?” Yoseyo said eagerly. “Into a deeper part of your mind…the past.” She opens her closet door and a blinding bright white light shines through it. She grabs his hand and they both run into the door with Yoseyo covering his face to whole time and a slam of the door behind them. Yoseyo wakes up and sees Osuna trying to make him get up. “Yoseyo! You’ve been sleeping for 3 hours, we were supposed to study an hour ago.” He gets up and coughs letting out his raspy voice. “Sorry Osuna, I was tired and out of it all day, the dream I keep having just feels so real. It continued today and just as you woke me up you were about to show me my past.” “Remember when I said not to dwell on those dreams?” “Yea” he said intently. “Well, this time I think you should listen and see what else happens. Your dream is very strange and I think I’m trying to tell you something important. When you fall asleep I will be there when you awake, so don’t worry about it too much,” she said seriously. “You must really be a special person to me, Osuna. You’re always there for me, even in my dreams,” he said with an appreciative smile. “Well, I don’t know if I’m special…but I do know I care for you a lot. Enough of this chatter let’s study.” She walked out the room heading towards the living room and Yoseyo got his bag to join her.
NIGHT 4
Yoseyo keeps thinking about Osuna’s words carefully the whole day and is anxious to go to sleep to find out more, but before falling asleep he wants to research what his dream means. He goes on his laptop and searches, ‘Dreaming about a close friend bringing me back to my past’. There are not many results since it is a weird topic, but the results that were popping up were mostly discussing about death. They said, ‘Dreaming about going back into your past either means you have something you need to remember or something you need to forget. When it comes to you dreaming about your friends leading you back to your past it automatically means they are deceased and is trying to bring you back to your senses and trying to make you move on with your life. Think about the good times I the past but don’t let it haunt you’. Haunt You. The last phrase keeps repeating over and over in Yoseyo’s head giving him chills and wondering how it can haunt him. He was appalled by what he just read making it hard for him to sleep. He decided to wait until Osuna got home and talk to her about what he researched instead. So he continued to watch the anime he never finished, ‘The world only God knows’. After finishing half of the first season it was now 8:40, and Osuna usually got home around 7:30-8:00. This was worrying Yoseyo so much to the point where he kept constantly calling her with the voicemail saying, ‘The following number you have dialed does not exist’. “What do you mean her number doesn’t exist? It’s not like she’s…dead,” he said thinking out loud. He was starting to get a sudden headache, so he took a pill, skip studying, and just sleep for the night. He tossed himself into bed as he the drowsiness was kicking in and drifted off into another world…literally. “What’s the matter, Yoseyo? I have to save you, we don’t have much time left,” Osuna said jittery. “Osuna… I’m afraid…I’m afraid of what I might see, what if I never see you again. OSUNA YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE I HAVE LEFT! PLEASE! Please… don’t leave me.” Yoseyo bursts out crying ands kneels on the white floor behind the closet door. All Osuna could do was cry along with him and try to comfort him for what she was going to say. “I’m sorry Yoseyo, but I have to show you whether you like it or not. If I don’t then you will really be alone this time… because they’re coming for me,” she said grabbing his hand once again until they got to a grassy meadow. A plane was crashed and on fire with people screaming, crawling out and looking for their loved ones. The plane said, “German Airways’, with some of the letters rubbed off. “We went to Germany in our second year of college. On our way back the plane crashed from the pilot forgetting to wake up from leaving the plane on autopilot. Only 100 people survived with 70 of them seriously injured,” Osuna said staring at the crying people. They suddenly see Yoseyo crawling out of the plane with his face and right arm bloody with cuts and scratches. “Osuna! Osuna! Where are you? Osuna!” He got up with a limp looking through the windows and whatever was left of the plane. With no luck Osuna was nowhere to be found which caused him to freak out more than before. “ AHHH! OSUNA, SAY SOMETHING! YOU PROMISED YOU WOULD NEVER LEAVE ME! Not like the rest… you promised.” He broke down onto his knees wailing calling out Osuna’s name over and over to the sky until the fire department helped him up and put him in an ambulance. From looking at what he just saw with the all the discombobulated dead bodies on the ground, Yoseyo vomited crouching down to the ground. Finding it hard to take in everything all at once, Osuna took Yoseyo back to the apartment thinking that was enough for the day. They would have to eventually make one or two more trips, but she wanted to wait until he was ready.
